Favorite Event: 3x3 Speedsolve
I started cubing back in October of 2005. A friend of mine demonstrated in class one day in orchestra, and it instantly caught my attention. I joined the club that he created and learned how to solve my first time in a week. Fast forward 5 months, I was averaging sub 18. In 2007 I was able to place 2nd in the World Championship in Budapest. I got to meet Erno Rubik and get things signed by him. In 2008, I was able to become US champion. Now, I average around 10.5 seconds in 3x3.
I love podcasts. But, I found that only 1 speedcubing podcast existed. Worse yet, the podcast only went 6 episodes in before dying. I thought it'd be fun to grab a friend and start one myself. And thus, CubeCast was born! My sincere hope is that the show will be able to continue throughout the years bringing you, the listeners, a bunch of great speedcubing content!

Favorite Event: Depends what I've been practising recently.
I got a Pyraminx for Christmas 2004. I had no idea that it existed
previously to this, and was fascinated how twistypuzzles similar to
the rubiks cube existed. I saw someone solve a cube in 33 seconds on
the internet some time after this and was amazed. A few months later I
went out and bought a cube from a store. I played with it on and off
for a few months but I couldn't do it on my own yet. This changed when
I stumbled across the Petrus method online. I remember going through
all the steps and being at about 5 mins the first few times I solved
it.
These days I enjoy discussing various techniques and methods
frequently. I try to attend competitions as often as possible, it's
like going to a party with cubers for a weekend.
I decided to join the show because I know everything and I'm hilarious :D
